The e-HealthExpert.org is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to provide a free and open forum to support the development of expertise in the field of eHealth, Healthcare Information Systems, and Health IT (Clinical IT).

1. Introduction


1.1. The e-HealthExpert.org community is a free and open forum about e-Health, Healthcare Information Systems, and Health IT/Clinical IT.

1.2. In the e-HealthExpert.org community any member can freely publish, review, evaluate and talk to a world wide (Internet) audience, about success or failure stories in designing, implementing and managing e-Health, Health IT/Clinical IT, and Healthcare Information Systems.


2. Membership


2.1. The e-HealthExpert.org community is dedicated to professionals working in e-Health, Healthcare Information Systems (HIS) and Health IT/Clinical IT.

2.2. Admission of new members is peer reviewed. All members may refer or vote to admit new members, or vote to suspend any other existing list member.

2.3. Some candidates may be asked to arrange for an existing member of the e-HealthExpert.org community to send us a short email referring them. It should be more than enough something as simple as: "I know Mary/John and I feel that she/he could be valuable to the e-HealthExpert.org project". This restriction main purpose is to maintain the quality of the community work.

2.4. To APPLY FOR A MEMBERSHIP, send an email to helpdesk@e-healthexpert.org with a brief description of your Curriculum Vitae and the reason why you feel that you should join the e-HealthExpert.org project. Upon evaluation of your request, you will be emailed (please note that this may take some time).

2.5. To CEASE A MEMBERSHIP, send an email to helpdesk@e-healthexpert.org with the words "CEASE A MEMBERSHIP" in the subject line. The sender email address must be the email address currently registered at that member's account.


3. Contents


3.1. The e-HealthExpert.org community submited contents are stored in a variety of forms like book page, forum topic, page, personal blog entry, poll, quote, story, which are better described at the Create Content page.

3.2. There are also several mailing lists sponsored by the e-HealthExpert.org. Among those, the public mailing lists are also mirrored at the Forum Area of the e-HealthExpert.org site. You may find a better description of the public mailing lists at the Mailing Lists page and at each of the mailing list's usage guidelines page.

3.3. The particular form used to submit contents is, at the time of each submission, chosen by each member at his/her own discretion.

3.4 Except where otherwise noted, the contents submited for publishing at the e-HealthExpert.org sites or mailing lists, are published at the e-HealthExpert.org sites or mailing lists under a Creative Commons NonCommercial ShareAlike License.


4. Policies


4.1. When submiting copyrighted material outside of fair use guidelines, you should obtain author's permission before submitting it. Private email is considered copyrighted material.

4.2. Advertising either commercial or non-commercial, or sales pitches, or hype, are not permitted on this Community. Reasonably promoting your project or goals to attract collaborators, is acceptable and considered fair use.

4.3. The members should not use the e-HealthExpert.org resources to slander or attack any individual or organization private or public. The Community members should not engage into flaming, baiting, name calling, using improper language, or making unsupported accusations of illegal, immoral, or unethical activity.

4.4. The members should not use the e-HealthExpert.org resources, directly or by means of a third party, to obtain addresses or any other type of personal information and send offensive, abusive, advertising, or any other type of unsolicited material also known as email SPAM. The Community supporting software may be set up to filter such type of abusers.

4.5. The members should not, directly or by means of a third party, cause harm or mischief to the equipment, software, or processes that support the Community.

4.6. Breach of Community rules may result in:
4.6.1. a private reminder,
4.6.2. a public (site and mailing list) reminder,
4.6.3. suspension/removal from the Community.

4.7. Privacy: we will not sell, rent or, within the limits established by the Law, give away any personal data.

How to apply for a membership

2. Account features

2.1. By having an account you will, usually, also have your own web space with full ability to publish your work and opinions. You will also have the ability to comment on and to co-moderate other member's contributions.

2.2. Additionally you may be eligible to have your own email account at the email servers of e-HealthExpert.org. These accounts, usually reserved for the more active members, will give you an email box with an address of the type yourname@e-HealthExpert.org.


3. How to apply for a membership

To APPLY FOR A MEMBERSHIP, send an email to helpdesk@e-healthexpert.org with a brief description of your Curriculum Vitae and the reason why you feel that you should join the e-HealthExpert.org project. Upon evaluation of your request, you will be emailed (please note that this may take some time).


4. How to cease a membership

To CEASE A MEMBERSHIP, send an email to helpdesk@e-healthexpert.org with the words "CEASE MEMBERSHIP" in the subject line. The sender email address must be the email address currently registered at that member's account.
